MIPIM launches the Leaders' Perspectives Summit

MIPIM is launching its first all-digital event, the Leaders' Perspectives Summit, from 16 to 18 March, firmly focused on economic recovery in 2021. It will give the floor to international real estate leaders as well as to young talent working in the sector who will have the opportunity to challenge the leaders’ ideas.

This event is free and open to all and introduces MIPIM's new digital platform, which will provide support for real estate and city professionals throughout the year.

The Leaders' Perspectives Summit will kick off the 2021 MIPIM programme with three full days of global conversations with international experts ready to shake up ideas about resilience, social and environmental responsibility, economic challenges, and innovation. The Leaders' Perspectives Summit is organised in partnership with Lendlease Digital.

Bertrand Piccard will open this digital event on Tuesday, 16th March at 9.30 am CET. As a scientist who invented Solar Impulse - the first fuel-less plane with perpetual autonomy - he will encourage professionals to work towards an innovative real estate sector, meeting the environmental challenges of our time.

Meanwhile, Mercedes Erra, Founder & President of BETC, and Executive Chairman of Havas Worldwide, will speak on Tuesday, 16th March at 9.00 am CET under the auspices of Gend'Her, a think tank devoted to gender balance in real estate, launched in partnership with Business Immo and KPMG.

The programme of the Leaders' Perspectives Summit is divided into three parts:

Tuesday 16 March: overview of international real estate

Leaders of international real estate companies along with mayors of major cities will take the floor to give their outlook on the coming year. They will be challenged by young talent.

Raymond Johansen, Governing Mayor of Oslo (16th March, 3.30-4.00 pm CET): cities as drivers of greener real estate and more inclusive and resilient societies.

Bronwyn Knight, CEO, Grit Real Estate Income Group (16th March, 4.15-4.45 pm CET): the future of real estate is in Africa.

Dario Nardella, Mayor of Florence and President of Eurocities (16th March, 5.00-5.30 pm CET): combining circularity, financial performance, with social inclusion.

François Trausch, Global CEO & CIO, Allianz Real Estate GmbH (16th March, 5.45-6.15 pm CET): CSR and international economic development.

Wednesday 17 March: investors and end-users take the floor

The Leaders' Perspectives Summit will feature two closed-door events, one for investors and one for end-users.

RE-Invest E-Summit (17th March, 10.00-12.00 pm CET)

The first all-digital summit that will bring together around 20 of the largest institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and more. This event will be organised in partnership with AXA IM-Real Assets and Colony Capital

Yvan Bourgnon, a celebrated skipper and founder of the SeaCleaners NGO that fights against the proliferation of plastic waste at sea, will open this summit on risk management and the environmental imperatives.

Occupiers E-Summit (17th March, 2.30-4.00 pm CET) co-organised with ADI, in partnership with WeWork. This e-summit will bring together some 30 end-users who will discuss their new expectations.

Thursday 18 March: Geo Focus

A special focus on the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Germany, Japan and Monaco.

The French Rendez-vous (18th March, 9.00 am-12.30 pm CET) organised in partnership with Business Immo.

Investigating the future of German real estate (18th March, 10.00–11.00 am CET)

The idea is to open our horizons towards a radically transformed, more responsible and sustainable future. This summit (live conferences and networking app) will be open to all and free of charge for one week. All MIPIM event participants in 2021 will benefit from full access to the MIPIM digital platform throughout the year.
