Vodafone Egypt has announced the appointment of Islam Mamoun as the Financial Services Director. This move is part of the company's ongoing efforts to strengthen its workforce and enrich financial technology and digital financial services. These efforts are of great importance in the development of society، achieving financial inclusion، and promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life for individuals and institutions.

The development of financial services

Mamoun brings extensive experience in both technology and financial services to this role. He spent over 18 years at NCR Corporation، where he served as the General Manager from 2011 to 2018. He significantly contributed to the development of financial services and the establishment of digital payment infrastructure، through innovative solutions such as payment processing، self-service automation، ATMs، data centers، point-of-sale solutions، and retail enterprise resource planning، among others.

In 2018، Mamoun joined e-Finance as the CEO of Business Affairs، where he played a key role in developing electronic payment methods، expanding digital solutions in the lending sector، and collaborating closely with various ministries، banks، and government entities on digital transformation projects across multiple sectors، including agriculture، tourism، transportation، financial services، and shipping.

A transformative journey

In 2020، he was appointed as the CEO of eAswaaq Misr، a subsidiary of e-Finance، leading a transformative journey that saw the company become one of the fastest-growing subsidiaries within the group. It now offers advanced digital platforms، e-commerce services، and digital lending solutions to various industries.

Regarding his new role as the Financial Services Director at Vodafone Egypt، Mamoun stated، "I’m thrilled to join Vodafone Egypt، the leading telecommunications company in Egypt and MENA region. Egypt is currently witnessing a technological revolution and a significant leap in digital financial services and automation، so I will strive to enhance the capabilities of Vodafone Egypt's financial services sector through financial technology to support Egypt Vision 2030، achieve financial inclusion، and digital transformation. This will allow us to exceed our customers' expectations in the Egyptian market، thanks to the exceptional team that I am honored to lead."

Mamoun earned his Bachelor of Economics degree in 1998 from the American University in Cairo.
