The CMA CGM Foundation and the Egyptian Food Bank have renewed their partnership in 2026 to continue supporting communities facing food insecurity in Egypt. This year, the Foundation’s contribution will enable the distribution of over 10,200 food parcels to families in need across the country, supporting around 50,000 individuals. The first distributions took place in Cairo and Alexandria during the Holy Month of Ramadan, ensuring that vulnerable families have access to essential food supplies at a critical time of the year.

CMA CGM Group staff members, led by Tariq Zaghloul, CEO of CMA CGM Egypt, teamed up with Egyptian Food Bank volunteers to pack and distribute food parcels in Cairo. This first event was followed, the next day, by a second distribution in Alexandria, also focused on providing the most underserved communities with essential food aid. Throughout the year, the CMA CGM Foundation and the Egyptian Food Bank will organize additional solidarity initiatives in those two cities and beyond to ensure a lasting and sustainable impact.

“We are proud to renew our partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank and continue supporting vulnerable communities across Egypt. Our shared commitment to fighting food insecurity, particularly during Ramadan, reflects the CMA CGM Foundation’s values of solidarity and humanitarian action," said Tariq Zaghloul, CEO of CMA CGM Egypt. “I would like to warmly thank our staff volunteers for their dedication and the Egyptian Food Bank for its outstanding work on the ground. Together, we are strengthening our long-term commitment to supporting families in need.”

Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of Egyptian Food Bank, remarked, "Our collaboration with the CMA CGM Foundation reflects a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable families and strengthening food security across Egypt. Through this partnership, we are providing essential food support to thousands of individuals in need. Together, we continue working to ensure that more communities have access to nutritious meals during Ramadan and beyond, creating a sustainable, tangible impact on the lives of Egyptians.’’

In 2025, the CMA CGM Foundation and Egyptian Food Bank supported the distribution of more than 7,000 food parcels in Cairo and Alexandria, with the valuable support of 30 CMA CGM staff member volunteers. The CMA CGM Foundation had previously conducted food distributions in Egypt, delivering over 1,000 food parcels during Ramadan.
