Alameda Healthcare Group, and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership to improve healthcare quality, clinical collaboration, and organizational development across Egypt.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the British Embassy in Cairo by Dr. Fahad Khater, Owner and Chairman of Alameda Healthcare Group, and Stephen Davis, Chief Financial and Investment Officer at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, in the presence of His Majesty's Ambassador to Egypt, Mark Bryson Richardson MBE.

The MOU represents an important milestone ahead of the planned signing of a comprehensive long-term strategic partnership agreement in September 2026.

The partnership brings together one of Egypt’s foremost private healthcare providers with one of the United Kingdom's leading NHS foundation trusts. Through the collaboration, the organisations will share expertise, strengthen clinical governance, enhance quality assurance, and support the continuous development of healthcare services across Alameda's network.

The collaboration focuses on improving patient outcomes, supporting the development of clinical services and leadership capability, and sharing best practice across a broad range of healthcare disciplines. By combining Alameda’s local knowledge and healthcare expertise with Guy's and St Thomas' international experience, the partnership aims to contribute to the continued development of high quality healthcare for patients across Egypt.

The agreement also reflects the growing strategic relationship between Egypt and the United Kingdom and demonstrates the value of international collaboration in addressing shared healthcare challenges.

Dr. Fahad Khater, Owner and Chairman of Alameda Healthcare Group, said, “This partnership represents an important step in our ambition to continue raising standards of healthcare across Egypt. Working with Guy's and St Thomas' will provide valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, strengthen quality and governance, and ultimately deliver even greater benefits for the patients and communities we serve.”

Stephen Davis, Chief Financial and Investment Officer at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, said, “This Memorandum of Understanding marks the beginning of what we believe will be a highly impactful partnership. We are proud to work alongside Alameda Healthcare Group to share expertise, strengthen healthcare quality, and support better outcomes for patients. International partnerships such as this enable us not only to contribute our experience, but also to learn from outstanding healthcare organisations around the world as we continue our mission of advancing healthcare globally.”

The organisations expect to begin collaborative planning immediately, with the formal strategic partnership agreement due to be signed in the United Kingdom in September 2026.

Together, Alameda Healthcare Group and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust share a commitment to advancing healthcare globally through collaboration, innovation, and the exchange of expertise, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality, safety, and experience of care for patients.
