Consortium of MMP and Sunetch won tender for building solar power stations at NAC

The Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company, collaborating with Industry Modernization Center and United Nations Development Program, signed a contract for designing, manufacturing, executing, supplying and installing solar power cells at the New Administrative Capital. 

Consortium of Ministry of Military Production (Banaha Electronics) and Sunetch Company for manufacturing solar power cells won tender for installing solar power stations on 65 rooftops of governmental buildings at the New Administrative Capital as well as strategic water tanks costing LE140mln and with 18 megawatt capacity.

" The issuance of the tender serves ACUDC's energy diversification strategy and boosts the share of renewable in the energy mix to 20%," said spokesman of ACUDC Colonel Khalid El-Hosseiny.

Building the solar energy stations on rooftops of governmental buildings is schedules to last for 4 to 6 months, he added.

" This project marks a debut for  ACUDC in the fraework of  a strategy for managing NAC's power distribution grid. It’s poised to start off  upon getting license from Energy Rationalization and Consumer Protection Authority and to save up energy,  in line with Egypt's 2030 vision  stressing the need for generating clean energy and activating factors necessary for the creation of sustainable new   urban cities in Egypt.
