Qatar Investment Authority, JPMorgan form $20bn partnership
Qatar Investment Authority and J.P. Morgan Asset Management announced today the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish a $20 billion strategic partnership across public and private markets.
The partnership includes a $15 billion public equities mandate and a $5 billion private markets investment initiative. JPMAM will manage customized global equity portfolios for QIA under the public equities mandate. The private investment strategy will focus on providing senior financing to middle-market companies in the U.S. across industrials, services, healthcare and technology sectors.
Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, CEO of QIA, said the collaboration will provide access to global equity and private credit platforms. Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset and Wealth Management, said the partnership will support QIA’s role in global institutional investing.
QIA, founded in 2005, is the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar. J.P. Morgan Asset Management manages $4.6 trillion in assets as of June 30, 2026. JPMorgan Chase reported $5.0 trillion in assets and $375 billion in stockholders’ equity as of the same date.
